STEM Into Spring

This seminar was inspired by the Hour of Code activity facilitated by Mera Seifu and Yabesra Ewnetu. Happy with the engagement the students demonstrated, SIP was invited to conduct a larger seminar – one in which the high school students were the program managers, middle school students were the STEM educators, and elementary school students enjoy the STEM program! This was one of our best activities. Lots of work by lots of value!

As an incentive, once students registered for the seminar they received an acknowledgement of their choice

Middle school students Yabesra, Jordan, Arthur, and Darren volunteered to go to the elementary school and talk to students about having fun with STEM and the value of participating in STEM into Spring!

Yabsera Ewnetu teaches students how to create “scrappy circuits”

To inspire girls SIP members hand-created attractive necklaces to commemorate the event. After students received their certificates of participation they could choose a necklace of their choice.
